Warehouse & Operations Supervisor

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inventory and movement/transfer of product as well as supervising the warehouse staff including drivers. Maintains ample levels of inventory to meet delivery and service expectations of all branch customers. Communicates and enforces goals and policies and ensures compliance with work procedures, policies, safety, recordkeeping practices and security.  Performs a variety of warehouse duties that may include packing, pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping and material handling. May use automated warehouse management system.

Position Responsibilities may include:

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse including staffing and assigned duties of all personnel are completed on a daily basis in a timely and safe manner. Review and approve hours worked and PTO using Kronos.

• Responsible for building and maintaining morale in the warehouse by demonstrating leadership qualities and setting an example for staff, promoting teamwork both within the branch and local team.  Develop employee’s skills and knowledge with proper training and guidance and assist them at reaching their full potential.

• Stay current with part number and line codes. Conduct cycle counts and keep dead stock at a minimum.

• Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.

• Process and document transactions and reports timely and accurately.  (cycle counts, inventory, driver records, safety incidents, damaged product, etc.)

• Ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment and employees are completing pre and post shift forklift and truck inspections as well as reporting any concerns. Maintain equipment and fix or replace malfunctioning equipment/trucks.

• Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve efficient warehouse operations.

• Communicate with other departments to ensure timely and safe shipment of products.

• Maintain working knowledge/understanding of company policies and procedures and employee handbook policies. Consult with Management and Human Resources for clarification as well as employee

• Identify and implement continuous improvement processes.

• Keep up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulations

• Assist with material handling at warehouse including lifting. May operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate storage of products throughout warehouse. Load and unload trucks as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Nature & Scope:

• Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production or operations team

• Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion

• Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager

• Accountable for the support or production operations team including subordinate work leaders

• Supports the branch through operational standards, safety, inventory accuracy, documentation, and overall audit readiness

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proven leadership, coaching / mentoring, employee development and performance management skills

• Extensive knowledge of warehouse/inventory management

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to effectively delegate tasks

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to apply sound judgment

• Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a Scanner

• Proven customer service experience with high level of customer satisfaction; and positive relationship management skills

• High quality customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult customers in a positive manner

• Ability to safely operate a forklift with a valid forklift operators certification – internal certification as well as train and certify warehouse associates and drivers

• Ability to keep the warehouse organized, well stocked and free from any safety or security hazards

• Ability to perform duties in a safe manner as well as follow safety protocols and regulations

Experience:

• 5 years in a warehouse or shipping environment

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred

Expected Travel: Up to 20%

Salary Range: $65,000-75,000 annually
