Warehouse & Packing Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and hard working person to join the team at our bakery helping to process cake orders from our online shop as well as packing the fresh cakes made daily.

Your days will be split between the online shop and cake packing depending on what area of the business needs your time the most. It's a varied role, but one that involves plenty of practical, hands on work.

Some previous packing or warehouse experience and a forklift licence are desirable. A keen eye for detail, a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in are important.

The role would suit someone who is comfortable working independently for periods of time, as well as working as part of a wider team. You will be on your feet for much of the day and this is a physical role, involving regular lifting of up to 25kg and moving pallet trucks and storage cages.

The working hours are 8 hour shifts worked anywhere between 6am and 7pm, usually Monday to Friday, although we do work the occasional weekend when needed. At this current moment the shifts will be 9:30am-5:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing and packing online orders
• Making and labelling boxes
• Packing cake
• Stacking pallets and cages
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy
• Sweeping and mop floors
• Cleaning equipment and machinery
• Cleaning down surfaces and walls
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste
• Restocking cleaning supplies
• You will be required to Follow Health and Safety regulations and company procedures
• Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and other production staff to ensure cleanliness and compliance

Requirements:

• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Good communication skills
• Reliable transportation to and from work

Desirable

• Previous packing, warehouse or bakery experience
• Forklift licence
• Experience working in a food production environment
