Warehouse Assistant @ Changi Cargo

Salary: $12/hr

6 days per week: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Job scope:

• Receive incoming cargo from trucks, freight forwarders, airlines or other operational areas.
• Check cargo quantity, labels, shipment numbers and visible cargo condition against relevant documents or system records.
• Perform cargo tallying and report discrepancies immediately.
• Identify damaged, missing, excess or incorrectly labelled cargo and inform the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Sort cargo according to shipment, destination, flight, storage location or handling requirements.
• Load and unload cargo using approved manual handling methods and authorised warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and trolleys.
• Perform picking, packing, labelling and cargo preparation according to work instructions.
• Assist with palletisation, shrink-wrapping, strapping and securing of cargo where required.
• Assist with container stuffing and unstuffing where assigned.
• Move cargo to the correct storage or staging location according to operational instructions.
• Support import, export and transhipment cargo operations.
• Prepare cargo for collection, delivery or onward transportation.
• Assist with cargo scanning, inventory checks and basic documentation where required.
• Ensure physical cargo, labels, quantities and available documentation are properly matched before movement or dispatch.
• Handle fragile, valuable, temperature-sensitive or other special cargo according to applicable instructions.
• Report damaged packaging, leakage, unusual odours or other abnormal cargo conditions immediately.
• Maintain good housekeeping and keep warehouse aisles, emergency access areas and cargo zones clear.

Requirement:

• Able to understand and follow basic English work and safety instructions.
• Physically fit and able to perform warehouse duties.
• Able to lift approximately 25 kg where manual handling is required.
• Able to stand, walk, bend and perform repetitive warehouse activities for extended periods.
• Good attention to detail when checking cargo, labels and quantities.
• Responsible, punctual and safety-conscious.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work in a shift-based airport cargo environment.
• Colour blindness not allowed.
