Warehouse Assistant

About the role

This role involves managing warehouse operations, including preparing and issuing Delivery Orders, verifying item details, ensuring correct stock picking and release, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will monitor stock balances, conduct physical stock checks, reconcile discrepancies, record all stock movements, and assist with periodic stock takes and audits. The role requires maintaining proper documentation, reporting warehouse issues, and keeping the warehouse organized for efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue Delivery Orders (DO) based on approved customer orders and delivery instructions
• Verify item descriptions, product codes, quantities, and other relevant details before issuing DOs
• Ensure the correct stock is picked and released according to the DO
• Monitor and maintain accurate stock balances in the warehouse and inventory system
• Perform regular physical stock checks and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records
• Ensure all stock movements, including receiving, issuing, transferring, and returning goods, are recorded accurately and promptly
• Conduct stock counting and assist with periodic stock takes and inventory audits
• Maintain proper documentation for all stock transactions and deliveries
• Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, shortages, or other warehouse issues to the supervisor promptly
• Keep the warehouse organized to facilitate efficient stock identification, picking, and dispatch

About you

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification
• Previous warehouse, inventory, or logistics experience is an advantage
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems
• Good attention to detail, especially when checking quantities and product information
• Able to perform physical stock counting and warehouse duties
• Responsible, organized, and able to work independently
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet delivery deadlines
