Warehouse Assistant

Job Summary

The Warehouse Assistant supports the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and warehouse supplies. The role ensures accurate stock handling, maintains warehouse cleanliness and organization, and assists with inventory control while complying with company safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and unload incoming goods and verify quantities against delivery documents.
• Arrange and store materials in designated warehouse locations using approved storage methods.
• Pick, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch according to approved orders.
• Load and offload raw materials, finished goods, and other warehouse items safely.
• Assist with stock counting, cycle counts, and periodic inventory exercises.
• Record stock movements accurately using warehouse registers or inventory systems.
• Label, organize, and rotate stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) principles where applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse at all times.
• Report damaged, expired, or missing items promptly to the Warehouse Officer.
• Assist in securing warehouse inventory against theft, damage, or unauthorized access.
• Support the movement of materials between the warehouse and production departments.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent qualification.
• OND or a vocational certificate is an added advantage.
• 1–2 years of warehouse or storekeeping experience is preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing or agro-processing environment is an added advantage.

Working Conditions

• Warehouse and factory environment.

• Exposure to dust, noise, and varying warehouse temperatures.
• May require shift work, overtime, or weekend duties during peak operations.
• Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
