Warehouse Assistant

About the role

KC Distributions Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic warehousing and distribution team. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our warehouse facility, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods. This position is essential to maintaining our high standards of inventory management and customer satisfaction, directly contributing to the smooth operation of our logistics network.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities and checking for damage or discrepancies
• Organise and store items in designated locations within the warehouse, following proper stacking and labelling procedures
• Pick and pack orders accurately according to delivery requirements and documentation
• Prepare shipments for dispatch, including labelling, weighing and securing packages
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse floor, storage areas and aisles
• Operate warehouse equipment such as hand trolleys, pallet jacks and, where appropriate, forklifts
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory counts and stocktakes
• Support the warehouse team in meeting delivery schedules and maintaining operational efficiency
• Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Report any issues, damages or discrepancies to supervisory staff promptly

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution centre or similar logistics environment
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and handle items weighing up to 25 kg regularly
• Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and order picking
• Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Reliability and a strong work ethic with a positive attitude
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for recording inventory and following documentation
• Willingness to follow health and safety procedures and maintain workplace safety standards
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one would be advantageous
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is preferred but not essential
