We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is vital to ensuring efficient warehouse operations, including inventory management, materials handling, and shipping & receiving. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced distribution environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse management systems and heavy equipment operation while supporting our commitment to excellence. Duties

• Assist with inventory management and control using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely and efficiently
• Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of materials and adherence to safety standards (OSHA compliance)
• Prepare orders for shipping by picking, packing, and verifying items with precision
• Support warehouse distribution activities including stocking, order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, and materials handling
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using AS400 or similar systems
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety protocols for heavy equipment operation

Requirements

• Proven warehouse experience with knowledge of inventory management and stock control techniques
• Valid certification for forklift operation; experience with reach trucks, cranes, and heavy equipment is highly desirable
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and AS400 is preferred
• Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks and order pickers
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse operations
• Previous experience in manufacturing or construction environments is a plus
