Warehouse Assistant – Role Description

Responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing and dispatching goods while maintaining accurate inventory records and a clean, organised warehouse. Duties include loading and unloading deliveries, checking stock for damage, preparing customer orders, operating warehouse equipment when trained and authorised, and maintaining safe storage practices. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, physical capability to perform assigned tasks safely, and compliance with workplace procedures and Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.

Key Requirements

• Follow workplace WHS policies, safety procedures and hazard-reporting requirements.
• Apply safe manual-handling practices and use appropriate mechanical aids to minimise injury risks.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety footwear and high-visibility clothing where necessary.
• Maintain clean and accessible work areas and follow safe stacking and storage procedures.
• Complete stocktaking, inventory documentation and order-processing tasks accurately.
• Participate in workplace induction and task-specific safety training.
• Hold a valid forklift high-risk work licence if operating a forklift.
• Demonstrate reliability, communication skills, teamwork and time management.

Pay: $26.88 – $38.58 per hour
