Warehouse Associate

SUMMARY:

Responsible for a variety of Warehouse duties depending on department workflow needs. This position requires cross training and regular alternating between Order Picking, Quality Control, Packing, Receiving, and Stocking duties. Must possess the ability to work together with other team members to exceed our customers’ requirements and expectations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ORDER PICKING

• Pick merchandise in batches to fulfill customer orders
• Box the picked merchandise and organize for quality control to review before sending to shipping
• Realign inventory so that all the inventory is located in the same area
• Restock items from secondary locations to primary location to speed up the picking process

QUALITY CONTROL

• Check and scan items from the batches to be placed in individual orders
• Verify that individual orders are complete and send to shipping to be packaged and sent out
• Verify overall quality of item by general appearance of packaging
• Verify that the order is correct
• Coordinate with inventory control on orders with missing merchandise

PACKING

• Package shipment according to company standards
• Verify shipping labels are accurate
• Load trucks in a timely manner
• Restock shipping supplies in stalls

RECEIVING

• Count, weigh and measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, purchase orders , bills of lading or other records
• Verify accuracy of shipments and if no exceptions enter into inventory
• Stamp company invoices with terms / due dates and file
• Process over shipped or damaged merchandise and send back to company
• Sort and stage merchandise to be stocked on the shelves
• Process drop ship orders
• Reconcile weekly and monthly receipt reports
• Checkout customer pickup orders
• Unload trucks
• Assist pickers in locating hard to reach or hard to find merchandise

STOCKING

• Restock inventory on shelves efficiently
• Remove bin boxes from shelves for discounted products
• Assist pickers in finding products
• Realign lines with new products
• Repair worn bin boxes
• Moving inventory from receiving to restock shelves
• Move empty pallets back to the receiving area
• Stock inbound inventory to primary shelves or o/f shelves as necessary

GENERAL

• Keep area clean and safe by moving cardboard boxes to compactor and entire area free of all trash
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Basic computer skills
• Work independently with little direction
• Attention to detail
• Good communication, organizational, time management, and mathematical skills
• Must be capable of repetitive lifting of up to 50 lb; must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required
