Warehouse Engineer

About the role

The Warehouse Engineer plans and improves warehouse, material handling, and logistics processes. The role involves analysing and optimising storage areas for goods, raw materials, and components, while controlling and improving inventory accuracy and storage systems. The position requires analysing stock, inventory, and material movement data to enhance efficiency, and improving the receiving, storage, picking, and delivery processes. The Warehouse Engineer designs and refines warehouse layouts, storage locations, and material flow, coordinates with Production, PPC, Purchasing, QA, and Logistics departments, and monitors and resolves issues related to stock discrepancies, material shortages, and deliveries. The role includes reporting and analysing warehouse KPIs, implementing Kaizen, 5S, and Lean initiatives to reduce costs, ensuring compliance with ISO and IATF 16949 standards, and supporting the implementation of SAP ERP and WMS systems.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and improve warehouse, material handling, and logistics processes
• Analyse and optimise storage areas for goods, raw materials, and components
• Control and improve inventory accuracy and storage systems
• Analyse stock, inventory, and material movement data to increase efficiency
• Improve receiving, storage, picking, and delivery processes
• Design and refine warehouse layouts, storage locations, and material flow
• Coordinate with Production, PPC, Purchasing, QA, and Logistics departments
• Monitor and resolve issues related to stock discrepancies, material shortages, and deliveries
• Report and analyse warehouse KPIs
• Implement Kaizen, 5S, Lean initiatives and reduce costs in warehouse processes
• Maintain and improve warehouse processes in compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements, including supporting internal and external audits and corrective actions

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• Experience in Warehouse, Logistics, Material Control, or Inventory
• Knowledge of Inventory Control, Material Flow, and Warehouse Management
• Proficient in Excel for data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including coordination with various departments
• Experience in the Automotive industry is a plus
• Experience with SAP ERP or WMS is a plus
