Warehouse Forklift Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Forklift Operator to join our distribution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling warehouse operations, including order picking, inventory management, and material movement using a sit-down forklift. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to manually lift and move heavy items without incident. The Warehouse Forklift Operator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations and accurate order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move materials and products throughout the warehouse
• Perform order picking accurately
• Accurately receive incoming loads and verify outgoing loads using shipping/receiving best practices
• Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper stacking and storage
• Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs
• Assist with inventory management by organizing stock locations and assisting with cycle counts
• Use basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying quantities during order fulfillment
• Handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently to meet daily operational demands
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
• Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts
• Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance is preferred
• Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order processing
• Strong attention to safety procedures and protocols in a warehouse setting
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods during shifts
• Prior experience with order picking and warehouse management is desirable
• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications for forklift operation are a plus but not required

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
