Warehouse Manager

Role is for an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy Christchurch warehouse and cold-chain environment. You will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 26 staff and ensuring the operation runs safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the operation, leads by example and can motivate a team to achieve results. A key focus will be developing people, improving processes and driving continued improvement across the warehouse.

Location: Christchurch
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, generally around 7:30am to 5:30pm depending on operational priorities, with some weekend work required. During busy periods, hours may increase to approximately 50–60 hours per week.
Salary: $110,000–$120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 26 staff

• Set clear expectations and lead by example across safety, productivity and performance

• Coordinate daily warehouse operations, staffing and priorities

• Manage health, safety, compliance and operational standards

• Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems and team performance

• Oversee warehouse equipment, assets and facilities

• Maintain accurate freight control, documentation and reporting

• Work with internal teams and customers to resolve operational issues

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience managing and leading medium to large warehouse or operational teams
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and hold staff accountable
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience driving continuous improvement and implementing better ways of working
• Warehouse, cold storage, logistics or FMCG experience preferred
• Current forklift licence with F endorsement preferred
• Experience with Risk Management Programmes (RMP) advantageous
• Facilities management experience advantageous
• MPI experience within a food, cold storage or logistics environment would be a bonus
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends and additional hours when operational priorities require
