About Us

KP Frozen Foods is a well-established frozen food manufacturing and wholesale business based in Birkenhead. We supply a wide range of frozen food products to retailers, wholesalers and foodservice customers throughout the UK.

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and hands-on Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our busy frozen food cold store.

This is not an office-based management position. We need someone who enjoys being on the warehouse floor, leads by example, motivates their team and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring our frozen food warehouse operates efficiently, accurately and productively, with particular emphasis on staff management, case picking, stock control and order fulfilment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing, supervising and motivating the warehouse team.
• Leading from the front and working alongside staff when required.
• Organising daily workloads to ensure orders are picked accurately and dispatched on time.
• Managing case picking operations and improving picking productivity.
• Ensuring efficient goods-in, storage, stock rotation and goods-out procedures.
• Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment when required.
• Using computerised warehouse management systems to control stock and monitor operations.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, food safety and health and safety.
• Identifying operational problems and implementing practical solutions.
• Training, developing and motivating warehouse staff.
• Taking ownership of warehouse performance, accuracy and efficiency.

The Person We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who are natural leaders with a strong work ethic, excellent people management skills and a practical, can-do attitude.

You must have:

• Excellent people management skills – able to lead, organise, motivate and get the best out of a team.
• Hands-on management experience – someone who leads by example rather than managing from behind a desk.
• Case picking experience – a good understanding of high-volume order picking, accuracy and productivity.
• Strong computer skills – confident using warehouse management systems, stock control software and Microsoft Office.
• Forklift experience – practical experience operating forklift trucks safely and efficiently.
• Strong motivational skills – the ability to create a positive, hardworking and productive team.
• Good practical knowledge – mechanically minded, resourceful and able to solve day-to-day operational problems.
• A genuine can-do attitude – willing to take responsibility and do whatever is reasonably necessary to get the job done.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• High standards of reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience managing a frozen food warehouse, cold store, food distribution centre or fast-moving case picking operation would be a significant advantage.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a temperature-controlled frozen food environment.
