What they need
About the role
The Warehouse Manager owns every physical item that enters, sits in, moves between or leaves our sites — raw material, customer-supplied material, consumables, tooling, work in progress and finished parts. The role makes sure the right material is on the right machine when production needs it, that every part stays traceable to its material certs, and that finished parts leave on time, protected and with the right paperwork. The role is also the
Production Manager's right hand on execution. The Production Manager sets the schedule, priorities and who runs what; the Warehouse Manager makes sure each job is ready to run before its slot, releases it to the floor, moves it through the factory, and flags anything that will stop a machine before it does.
The role also leads every process in the factory that isn't machining or inspection: fabrication (helicoiling, pin pressing), laser engraving, vapour blasting, finish deburring and packing. As we move from two factories to three and add more export work, this role turns stores, despatch and job preparation from something everyone does part-time into a controlled, data-driven function.
Key responsibilities
- Work from the Production Manager's schedule and attend the daily production meeting
- Stage jobs one to two days ahead: material cut, tooling, fixtures, gauges, drawings and travellers ready, and programs confirmed with the programmers
- Check readiness of upcoming jobs, release work orders to the floor once they are ready to run, and flag shortfalls to the Production Manager before they stop a machine
- Expedite material, tooling and outside processing to protect schedule dates
- Move jobs between operations, inspection, departments and sites as they complete; keep job status current
- Run the tool crib: issue, return and reorder cutting tools, and track tool stock
- Report daily to the Production Manager on jobs ready, blocked or running late
- Lead all secondary operations in the factory: fabrication, laser engraving and part marking, vapour blasting, finish deburring and packing
- Allocate and supervise staff working in secondary operations, and train and sign off operators on each process
- Receive all raw material, consumables and customer-supplied material; check against PO, drawing and material spec
About you
- Forklift certification
- Experience with inventory management systems and data accuracy
- Knowledge of AS9100D QMS and aerospace/defence compliance standards (bonus)
- Experience leading and training warehouse and despatch staff
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across production, quality and logistics functions
Other offers great for you!
