What they need

Warehouse Operations Manager

Game Day Legends | Huntington Beach, CA
Full-Time | On-Site

About the Role

Game Day Legends is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to take ownership of our growing warehouse and fulfillment operation.

We are a fast-paced sports memorabilia company with a significant e-commerce and live-commerce business. As our sales volume has grown, we are looking for an experienced warehouse leader who can build an efficient, accurate and scalable fulfillment operation.

This is not simply a shipping supervisor position. We are looking for someone who understands warehouse operations, fulfillment, workflow optimization, employee management and process improvement and who takes pride in creating an operation that runs exceptionally well.

The Warehouse Operations Manager will have responsibility for the day-to-day performance of our warehouse and fulfillment team, with a primary objective of ensuring customer orders are picked, verified, packed and shipped quickly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee the warehouse fulfillment operation, including:

  • Manage and lead warehouse and shipping employees
  • Oversee daily order picking, verification, packing and shipping
  • Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and within established shipping timelines
  • Manage daily workload and appropriately allocate employees based on order volume
  • Monitor order backlog and proactively adjust staffing and workflow to prevent delays
  • Develop and maintain efficient warehouse workflows and processes
  • Establish clear productivity expectations for warehouse employees
  • Track employee and department performance using measurable KPIs
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions
  • Improve warehouse layout, product location and picking efficiency
  • Maintain accurate inventory locations within the warehouse
  • Develop quality-control procedures designed to reduce picking and shipping errors
  • Manage shipping stations, equipment and shipping supplies
  • Coordinate carrier pickups and resolve shipping-related operational issues
  • Develop written standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key warehouse functions
  • Train, coach and hold warehouse employees accountable for performance
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse environment
  • Prepare the operation for periods of increased sales volume and promotional events
  • Work closely with ownership and other departments to ensure warehouse operations support the company's continued growth

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who sees a busy warehouse and immediately begins thinking about workflow, efficiency, organization and capacity.

The ideal candidate is comfortable both managing people and analyzing how work gets done.

You should be someone who asks questions such as:

  • Where are the bottlenecks?
  • How many orders should this team be capable of processing?
  • How can we reduce unnecessary movement and handling?
  • Why are certain errors occurring repeatedly?
  • How can we organize inventory to improve picking speed?
  • How should staffing change based on order volume?
  • What processes need to change before volume increases further?

We want someone who doesn't simply manage the existing system—we want someone who continually looks for ways to make the system better.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of warehouse, fulfillment or distribution management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing warehouse employees
  • Experience overseeing high-volume e-commerce or direct-to-consumer fulfillment strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of picking, packing and shipping workflows
  • Experience establishing and monitoring warehouse KPIs
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions
  • Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of department performance
  • Experience with inventory and shipping software
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where daily order volume can fluctuate significantly

Experience managing a fulfillment operation larger or more complex than our current operation is highly desirable.

How Success Will Be Measured

This position will have clear operational goals and measurable performance standards, including:

  • Orders shipped on time
  • Average order-to-shipment time
  • Order and shipping accuracy
  • Outstanding order backlog
  • Orders and/or units processed per labor hour
  • Employee productivity
  • Inventory location accuracy
  • Warehouse organization and operational readiness

Our goal is simple: orders should leave our building quickly, accurately and efficiently regardless of fluctuations in sales volume.

The Opportunity

Game Day Legends is an established company experiencing significant growth in e-commerce and live-commerce sales.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of an existing warehouse operation and help build the systems, processes and team necessary to support the company's next stage of growth.

We are looking for someone who wants more than a job supervising a warehouse. We want someone who takes pride in building an operation that performs at a high level every day.

About Game Day Legends

Game Day Legends is an established, family-owned sports memorabilia company with more than 25 years in the industry. We specialize in authenticated autographed memorabilia, e-commerce, live-commerce, athlete signings and collectibles.

As the company has grown, we're intentionally building the team, systems, processes and operational structure necessary to support our next stage of growth.

We operate with a lean, hands-on team and an entrepreneurial approach. We move quickly, make decisions without layers of corporate bureaucracy and value people who bring professionalism, initiative, sound judgment and accountability to their work.
