Warehouse Operative

We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our friendly team in Rainham, Kent. This is a full-time position with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

• Full-time position Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm (42.5 hours per week)
• Pay: £12.71 per hour during the probationary period. Following successful completion of probation, pay will increase based on experience and performance.
• Previous experience is welcome but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties

• Handling materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
• Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory records
• Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer requirements
• Organising stock replenishment and stocking shelves to optimise space utilisation
• Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including preparing goods for dispatch and verifying incoming deliveries
• Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed
• Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and compliant with safety standards
• Supporting other team members in various operational tasks as required

Skills

• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stock movement or loading/unloading activities
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in picking, packing, and quality control checks
• Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment
• Basic computer skills
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to use initiative and follow instructions
