We operate our own world class bonded chamber facilities within the London City Bond warehouse at Tilbury, Essex.

We are looking for a motivate individual to join our dynamic warehouse team.

About the role

Working as part of a busy and collaborative warehouse team, the Warehouse Operative will support the accurate receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of stock, ensuring products are handled carefully and orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.

The role will contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse while maintaining high standards of organisation, accuracy and health and safety.

This is a day shift role, working 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, and is offered on a six-month fixed-term basis to provide additional support during a key operational project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently, including picking the correct stock.
  • Receive, check and locate incoming stock, including attaching QR codes to cases and bottles and recording stock movements accurately using handheld scanners.
  • Complete, sign and file all relevant paperwork in line with company procedures.
  • Scan parcels electronically and ensure all stock movements are recorded accurately.
  • Handle and store all packages carefully to minimise the risk of damage.
  • Maintain responsibility for the safe use and care of company property and equipment.
  • Carry out quality control checks, stock counts and inventory checks, recording information accurately.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork and provide supporting information when requested.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, contributing to a safe and responsible working environment.
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with colleagues across the business.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, managers, warehouse teams and depot personnel.
  • Respond to operational queries and correspondence effectively and efficiently.
  • Follow all relevant HMRC requirements relating to duty stamping and the removal of duty stamps, ensuring processes are completed accurately.
  • Follow the authentication procedures established by the Authentication team.
  • Support the wider warehouse team with other reasonable duties as required by Management.

Job Specification

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment is desirable.
  • Comfortable undertaking manual work, including standing, bending and lifting boxes throughout the working day.
  • A strong team player with good communication skills and a positive, collaborative approach.
  • Flexible, reliable and enthusiastic, with a willingness to support the wider team.
  • Able to work independently, use initiative and manage workload effectively against deadlines and KPIs.
  • Able to follow written instructions, processes and standard operating procedures accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a consistent and careful approach when working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures within a warehouse environment.
  • Comfortable using IT systems; previous experience of warehouse management systems or handheld scanning equipment would be an advantage.
