Warehouse Operative

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced reliable, trustworthy, and proactive Warehouse Operative to join the team at our Tuxford head office. This role offers a great balance of independent work and team collaboration. You will play a vital part in our daily operations, handling everything from order fulfilment to customer service and occasional delivery driving.

Key Responsibilities

• Order Fulfilment & Heavy Lifting: Pick and pack a variety of orders accurately for online small sales, in addition to larger company orders. This will vary from small boxes to larger heavier boxes of refractory bricks (up to 30kg), plus pallets up to a tonne which require preparing and wrapping.
• Loading & Unloading: Load pallets of refractory bricks and insulation materials safely onto delivery lorries and unloading deliveries from suppliers, often using a Fork Lift Truck.
• Product Preparation: Cut various refractory products to specification including the use of bench saws, and weighing and bagging products to prepare stock.
• Customer Service: Assist and interact with trade or retail customers arriving for collections.
• Booking on with hauliers: Accurately entering delivery information on our hauliers’ systems for collection from our works, for delivery to our customers.
• Operational Support: Help out across all areas of the warehouse operations as required which may include some cleaning and organisation in the warehouse.
• Occasional Driving: Complete occasional deliveries using the company vehicle.

What We Are Looking For

• Warehouse experience: We would prefer someone with at least a years warehouse experience
• Driving Licence: A full manual UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to comfortably handle heavy lifting up to 30kg.
• Forklift Experience: A forklift truck licence is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.

Pay: From £12.75 per hour
