Warehouse Operative - Late Shift

Here at ParkerSteel Ltd we have an exciting opportunity for Warehouse Operatives to join our busy Warehousing Department at our Canterbury offices.

We are currently offering immediate start opportunities for the right candidates!

We are actively recruiting several candidates due to increased workload and operational demand.

This is a physically demanding role involving manual handling, the movement of steel products, and the operation of plant and cranes within a busy industrial environment. Full in-house training will be provided.

These are permanent vacancies working Monday to Friday from 12pm-8pm (37.5 hours per week).

The Role and Responsibilities

• Working as part of a team to safely unload, handle, and store steel products in the correct racks
• Ensuring materials are handled with minimum damage and stored correctly for customer orders
• Operating plant, cranes, and lifting equipment (full training provided)
• Picking and delivering materials to production teams and machines in the correct order
• Using measuring equipment, computer systems, and handheld tablets for stock control and processing (full training provided)
• Completing rolling stock checks and maintaining accurate stock locations, labelling, and colour coding
• Ensuring all delivery paperwork is completed accurately and in line with company procedures
• Working in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Assurance standards
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment at all times

The Person Specification

• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Physically able to meet the demands of a manual handling role in a busy warehouse environment
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Able to follow instructions and work accurately and efficiently
• Strong commitment to health and safety at all times
• Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and attention to detail
• Previous experience in warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or heavy industry is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience operating counterbalance forklifts and/or FLT (forklift trucks) is essential
• Willingness to operate plant, cranes, and lifting equipment (full in-house training provided)
• Willingness to use measuring equipment, computer systems, and handheld tablets (full training provided)
