Warehouse Receiver – Food Distribution

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour + OvertimePosition OverviewWe are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Receiver to join our fast-paced food distribution team in the Katy/Houston area.The ideal candidate will have previous experience in foodservice distribution, warehouse receiving, or produce handling. This position is responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying product accuracy and quality, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are properly stored in a temperature-controlled warehouse environment.Candidates must be comfortable working in refrigerated storage areas and performing physically demanding warehouse duties.Compensation & Work Schedule

• Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
• Overtime: Overtime pay after 40 hours worked per week.
• Days: Monday through Friday, with occasional Sundays and some holidays required.
• Hours: Start time between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, working until 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely unload incoming deliveries using forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
• Inspect products for freshness, quality, proper temperatures, damage, and expiration dates.
• Identify and report shortages, damaged products, and shipment discrepancies.
• Accurately record received inventory using warehouse management systems.
• Label, organize, and transport products to designated storage locations.
• Follow proper inventory rotation procedures, including FIFO (First In, First Out).
• Communicate with warehouse management and purchasing teams to resolve receiving discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and warehouse safety procedures.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled food distribution environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Foodservice, food distribution, or warehouse receiving experience preferred.
• Previous experience handling fresh produce or perishable food products is a plus.
• Forklift certification and experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks required.
• Ability to accurately count, verify, and document incoming inventory.
• Basic computer skills and experience using warehouse inventory systems.
• Must be comfortable working in refrigerated and cold storage environments.
• Ability to lift and move cases, stand for extended periods, bend, walk, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
