Your main day-to-day focus is going to be entirely on receiving packages and shipments. That is it. You will handle the incoming freight. You will unload parcels. Responsibilities

• Meet the delivery trucks as they back in and physically accept the dropping-off parcels.
• Grab a basic safety cutter and slice open the tape on incoming cardboard boxes to make sure the stuff inside isn't totally shattered. You basically just check the contents against a printed slip to verify the sender didn't mess up our inbound order.
• Separate the newly unloaded shipments onto different rolling carts based on their physical size so we can push them into the main warehouse later.
• Keep the receiving area tidy.

Qualifications

• We want to emphasize strongly that we welcome both seasoned workers and complete beginners, and all training is provided! Because of this, your only real requirement to start is just having the physical stamina to comfortably stay on your feet and walk around a concrete floor for a few hours at a time.
• Adaptability is a massive help on our dock. Things change fast when three freight trucks show up at the exact same time, so being able to simply shift your focus without getting stressed out is huge.
• Basic teamwork matters a lot. You will be unloading trailers right alongside our current crew, and sharing the workload makes dragging heavy pallets off the trucks way easier.
• You will need decent communication skills to quickly wave down a supervisor if you spot a crushed box or a missing parcel.
• Good organizational skills are needed so you can sort the incoming shipments into neat rows on the shelves instead of letting them turn into a giant tripping hazard on the floor.
• Being able to accurately read plain numbers and zip codes is completely necessary to make sure the boxes dropped off actually belong to our building.
• You must be willing to dress properly for the weather. The loading dock doors stay wide open all day long, so throwing on a warm coat in the winter or a breathable t-shirt in the summer is essential to stay comfortable while you work.

Pay: $24.64 - $29.68 per hour
