Warehouse Storeman

About the role

CT Steel Supplies is seeking a Warehouse Storeman to join our team in Hastings VIC 3915. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and organisation of our warehouse operations. As Warehouse Storeman, you will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and dispatch of steel supplies and materials, ensuring that inventory is managed accurately and goods are readily accessible for our customers and internal teams. This role is integral to supporting our supply chain operations and maintaining the high service standards that CT Steel Supplies is known for.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments of steel supplies and materials, checking for damage and verifying quantities against documentation

• Store materials in the warehouse using appropriate storage methods and locations, ensuring safety protocols are followed and goods are organised for easy retrieval

• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems, including logging stock movements and conducting regular stocktakes

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch to customers, ensuring items are correctly identified and safely packaged

• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, bandsaws, overhead cranes, pack cutting saw's and other machinery in a safe and efficient manner

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety standards

• Support the warehouse team in general duties as required to ensure smooth daily operations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a warehouse or storage environment, ideally within the steel, manufacturing, or logistics sector

• Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment, particularly forklifts (current licence is essential)

• Strong organisational and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting heavy items regularly

• Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to warehouse operations

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Reliability and a strong work ethic with consistent attendance

• A current driving licence and forklift licence.
