Engine and Pump Parts Stores, with Sales Support

Shropham, Norfolk NR17 1DT (near Attleborough) | Full time, permanent | Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm

Are you an experienced storeperson ready to take ownership of a busy parts stores? We are looking for someone with solid warehouse or stores experience to run goods in and out, stock control and order picking, and to support our parts sales team with quotations and orders.

About us

Stuart Group specialises in the power generation and pumping market. We have been an authorised dealer for leading brands, including Perkins engines, for over 40 years, supplying parts, equipment and service to customers across the UK and overseas. Continued growth means we need a capable, hands-on person to look after our parts stores.

The role

This is a practical, warehouse-based role, not a desk job. Most of your day will be spent in the stores: receiving deliveries, putting stock away, picking and packing orders and keeping stock accurate. The rest is spent on the system, processing quotations and orders and helping the sales team find the right parts for customers.

What you will do

• Goods in: check deliveries against purchase orders, record any shortages or damage, book stock onto the system and put it away.
• Goods out: pick, pack and dispatch customer orders accurately, and prepare delivery paperwork and carrier bookings.
• Stock control: carry out regular stock checks, help with the annual stock take and keep stock levels right.
• Order assembly: assemble and kit orders and parts for jobs, ready for collection, dispatch or our engineers.
• Stores standards: keep the stores tidy, safe and clearly labelled so anyone can find what they need.
• Sales support: identify parts, produce quotations, process sales orders and help with purchasing when required.
• Customer updates: give the sales team and customers clear information on stock availability, lead times and order progress.

What we are looking for

• Essential: at least 2 years' experience in a warehouse, stores, parts counter or trade counter role.
• Essential: accurate and methodical; you care that the stock on the shelf matches the system.
• Essential: confident using a PC and a stock or order system, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Essential: comfortable on your feet for most of the day, including manual handling of parts and packages.
• Essential: organised, able to prioritise a busy workload and keep customers informed.
• Desirable: engine, plant, agricultural or mechanical parts knowledge.
• Desirable: Sage, for stock control and order processing.
• Desirable: counterbalance forklift licence.
