Warehouse Supervisor

The Opportunity

We need a Warehouse Supervisor to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our Hallam warehouse. This is a hands-on role covering B2B and online order fulfilment, receiving, stock control, freight coordination and the organisation of the warehouse itself.

Most days you'll be on the floor doing the work yourself: reviewing orders, picking and packing, receiving incoming goods, processing stock from production and making sure customer orders get out the door accurately and on time. On the busier days, we roster casual team members to help and you'll coordinate their work.

We're looking for someone who treats the warehouse like it's their own. You notice when stock is in the wrong place, when an order doesn't look right, or when a freight quote seems ridiculous - and you do something about it. You'll also be one of the first people our suppliers, drivers and logistics partners meet, so being friendly, confident and easy to deal with matters.

Key responsibilities

Fulfil & Despatch

• Review daily B2B and online orders
• Pick and pack accurately and efficiently
• Dispatch orders within customer and carrier cut-offs
• Fulfil marketing, sampling and office requests
• Prepare labels, manifests and freight documentation

Control & Receive

• Receive goods against purchase orders
• Receive finished stock from production
• Record all stock movements accurately
• Manage stock rotation and storage
• Cycle counts, stocktakes and discrepancy investigation
• Track damaged, wasted or quarantined stock

Own & Improve

• Keep the warehouse clean and tidy
• Optimise layout and space utilisation
• Book domestic & export freight
• Challenge unusual freight costs and resolve delivery issues
• Lead warehouse safety and continuous improvement

About you

Experience matters, but the person matters more. We're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in accuracy, organisation and getting things right. You should enjoy being hands-on, working autonomously and being the person who knows exactly what's happening in the warehouse.

Meticulous: Stock accuracy matters to you. You check your work, notice discrepancies and don't accept 'close enough'. Orders leave right the first time.

Owns it: You take responsibility for the space and the result. If something is messy, inefficient or wrong, you fix it rather than waiting to be asked.

Personable: You're friendly, confident and comfortable talking with drivers, suppliers, neighbours and freight companies. You build relationships naturally.

You will also need to bring:

• Previous experience in warehousing, inventory control, logistics or distribution
• Strong attention to detail and accurate, thorough work habits
• Confidence using inventory, ERP or warehouse systems and learning new technology
• The ability to work autonomously and organise your own day
• A practical commercial mindset - if a freight quote or charge doesn't look right, you'll investigate it
• Confidence picking up the phone to freight companies, suppliers and logistics providers
• The ability to supervise and coordinate casual staff during busy periods
• A hands-on attitude and willingness to pick, pack, receive stock and move cartons as part of the everyday role
• A current forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one
