Warehouse Supervisor

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Warehouse Supervisor to oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping. The ideal candidate will lead a team of warehouse associates, ensure operational efficiency, maintain safety standards, and drive continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to meeting productivity and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, order fulfillment, inventory control, and outbound shipping.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Monitor workflow and adjust staffing levels and schedules to meet operational demands.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and quality.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse associates, including forklift operators, pickers, packers, and loaders.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and address disciplinary issues when necessary.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and safety-first team culture.
• Coordinate daily shift meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety messages.

Inventory Control

• Oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances in a timely manner.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of equipment and facilities.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials (if applicable).
• Maintain clean, organized, and clutter-free warehouse environment.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
• Collaborate with management to implement lean practices and automation solutions.
• Recommend and support system upgrades or process changes to enhance productivity.

Reporting & Communication

• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports (e.g., productivity, accuracy, downtime).
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, including procurement, customer service, and transportation.
• Liaise with external partners such as carriers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of warehouse operations experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
• Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (or as required by the role).
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures (e.g., cold storage or non-climate-controlled environments).
