About the role:

We have a vacancy for a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our Rata St site based on the Port of Tauranga. Reporting to our Branch Manager, this role will be responsible for overseeing and leading our staff based onsite in relation to all warehousing, distribution and transport activities that take place. This role will rely on strong organisational skills to ensure that the operations run smoothly and efficiently while bringing proven leadership skills to build and develop a cohesive team. A strong focus and adherence towards health & safety and compliance requirements will also be key. This role will suit an individual that has prior leadership experience overseeing a team and strong prior experience within warehousing and transport environments. The ability to manage and juggle priorities, communicate efficiently and a high attention to detail will be essential to succeed in this role.

This is a full time role.

Primary tasks will include;

• Oversee and facilitate the day-to-day operations of the warehouse team to ensure operational requirements are met.
• Responsible for arranging rosters for staff to cover day and night shift work, as well as weekend work when required.
• Responding and liaising with external customers and internal teams to ensure high standard of customer service is attained as well as assisting with any issues or complaints in a timely manner.
• Communicating and working cohesively with the Transport side of the business as well as other warehousing areas.
• Support and lead the warehousing team in uphold high standards of service, teamwork and professionalism
• Proactively manage the tidiness and security of the Rata St area
• Creating and ensuring a positive approach to H&S within the workplace and compliance requirements are met and maintained
• Reporting, following up and assisting with any incidents, injuries and near misses
• Assisting to complete relevant warehouse receipts and order maintenance requirements in Freight 2020 & customer portals to ensure KSF Transport Managements systems and customer systems are maintained and kept up to date (If applicable).
• Identify and implement process improvements to improve workflow, delivery performance and service quality.

Skills and Experience:

• Exceptional communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Strong leadership and ability to develop and motivate a cohesive team environment.
• High attention to detail and ability to identify issues/discrepancies
• Competent with computer and good knowledge of MS Office and ability to use/learn Warehousing management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think proactively and work under pressure
• Previous experience within Warehousing, Transport and Distribution environments.
• Great awareness of Health and Safety.
