Job Type: Full time, permanent

Number of Vacancies: 1

We started our journey back in 1989 and have grown to become a beacon of excellence in the corporate events industry. From mesmerizing technical productions to ingenious creative services, we redefine event experiences. Our footprint spans the continent, with bases in the UK, servicing events in northern Europe, and in Spain, servicing events in southern Europe.

We don't just understand technology; it is embedded into everything we do. Our prowess in leveraging technology elevates client experiences and propels us to continuously refine every facet of our operations. At Aztec, innovation fuels our passion. We are relentless in crafting ground-breaking solutions for events, ensuring each encounter resonates with the brand, aligns with the message, and captivates its audience.

Job Role

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills and further your career.

The successful applicant will act as a deputy to the Warehouse Manager, assuming responsibility for warehouse activities in the Warehouse Manager’s absence. On a day-to-day basis, the role involves supervising and directing colleagues in the preparation of equipment to a consistently high standard, working with the Warehouse Manager to ensure that there is adequate resource to achieve this within the timeframe. This is a hands-on role where the job holder will lead by example, motivate those around him/her, monitoring activities and progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and jobs are completed on time.

Aztec employees take great pride in their work and recognise that the work we do for our clients on site can only ever be as good as the quality of the equipment and preparation within the warehouse. The journey for every production starts and ends in the warehouse. This role will ensure the best possible outcome for the successful delivery of our services to events by ensuring that every step of equipment preparation is meticulously planned and executed consistently well.

To be effective in this role, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a natural ability to coach and encourage colleagues when working under pressure, providing leadership and direction.

Responsibilities

  • You will assist the Warehouse Manager in his/her daily duties and deputise as required
  • You will assist in the planning of resource to meet the daily workload
  • You will coordinate the workflows to prepare equipment and create a schedule of tasks and timetables
  • You will supervise and direct colleagues, escalating issues as they arise
  • You will police daily warehouse procedures and activities

What we’re looking for

In addition to the above, to be successful with your application, we would expect you to have the following:

  • Demonstrable experience of supervising teams in a busy environment, ideally a warehouse for an AV/production company.
  • Good audio-visual technical skills from working as a live events technician.
  • The ability to stay cool under pressure, keeping colleagues focussed on the priorities to ensure deadlines are met and standards maintained
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong desire not only to maintain standards but to improve upon them
  • Strong team skills, ‘mucking in’ when required but at the same time maintaining a distance as a supervisor/manager
  • Good all-round end-user IT skills

If the above sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you!

The business provides services to trade exhibitions which generally take place on weekdays. Consequently, our equipment tends to be on site Tuesday to Thursday, so much of the warehouse work takes place Friday to Monday preparing equipment for the following week’s events. This necessitates weekend work for much of the year, potentially with some early morning and early evening work in a shift pattern. During the quieter periods there is a higher degree of flexibility regarding working hours.

This role is based at Aztec’s Chessington premises.

Benefits include company bonus scheme, private medical insurance, EV car scheme, buy/sell holiday scheme, enhanced maternity/paternity, season ticket loans & free railcard, flexible working hours, training and development, Bike2Work scheme and contributory pension scheme.

"Diversity is the art of thinking independently together." Malcom Forbes

We believe that our differences make us stronger, so be yourself and help us to ignite the potential of our forward-thinking mix of people. We believe in our people and give them the freedom to make informed decisions. Social and environmental responsibility is ingrained into our mindset and underpins everything we do.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £29,500.00-£34,000.00 per year

  • Additional leave
  • Bereavement leave
  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Enhanced maternity leave
  • Enhanced paternity leave
  • Free flu jabs

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Chessington KT9 1TQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Application question(s):

  • Why do you think you would be a good fit for the Warehouse Supervisor role at Aztec?

Experience:

  • Warehouse supervisory/leadership: 1 year (preferred)
  • audio-visual equipment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (required)
