Washer Operator- Laundry Facility

Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial washers according to established procedures and production schedules.
• Load and unload washers with sorted laundry while ensuring proper load sizes.
• Select the correct wash formulas based on fabric type, soil level, and customer specifications.
• Monitor wash cycles and ensure machines are functioning properly.
• Add detergents, chemicals, and other cleaning agents according to established guidelines or automated dispensing systems.
• Inspect washed items for cleanliness and identify items requiring rewashing.
• Maintain accurate production records and machine logs.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of washer equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with other laundry production tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in commercial laundry, manufacturing, or machine operation is an advantage but not required.
• Ability to operate industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating industrial washers or similar production equipment.
• Knowledge of laundry chemicals and textile care.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of workplace safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Comfortable working in a warm, humid, and fast-paced production environment.
