Wastewater Foreman

Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Wastewater Superintendent, the Wastewater Foreman provides a variety of administrative and field supervisory duties including the administration of the wastewater collection system, treatment plant, lab testing, alarm systems, and land application.

Knowledge of:

• Advanced knowledge of the methods, equipment, materials, tools, and standard practices for the operation and maintenance of an advanced wastewater collection system

• City, state, federal, and other applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations applicable to the maintenance and operation of the City’s wastewater collection, treatment, and land application

• Chemistry, math, microbiology, and bacteriology related to wastewater treatment

• Safety regulations, protocols, principles, practices, and procedures

Ability to:

• Train, assign, motivate, supervise, and evaluate the work of others

-Prepare and present accurate and reliable reports containing findings and recommendations

• Work independently and exercise initiative, with general guidance and supervision

• Operate laboratory and field monitoring equipment

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, preferably supplemented with technical training in wastewater management; and

• Five years experience in wastewater treatment;

• Possession of the following licenses issued by the State of Idaho: Class II Wastewater Treatment System Operator, Class III Wastewater Collection (or Class II with the ability to obtain Class III in one year), and Wastewater Land Application (or the ability to obtain it within six months);

• Possession of a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement;

• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Pay: $32.18 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
