WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR

Position Overview
Kroff Chemical Company is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a wastewater treatment facility in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will join a collaborative technical team focused on practical problem-solving, regulatory compliance, and strong customer service. A wastewater operator license is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot wastewater treatment processes and associated equipment.

· Adjust treatment processes as needed to support safe, efficient, and reliable system performance.

· Collect process and final-discharge samples, review analytical results, and use operating data to help optimize plant performance.

· Prepare clear daily treatment reports and communicate system performance to internal team members and the customer.

· Maintain accurate operating records, logs, and supporting documentation.

· Coordinate and oversee third-party preventive maintenance activities.

· Support compliance with applicable environmental regulations, discharge permits, and site requirements.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate of Applied Science degree or related technical education is preferred but not required.

· Wastewater treatment operating experience is preferred; candidates with relevant industrial, mechanical, or process experience will also be considered.

· Mechanical aptitude and at least one year of maintenance experience.

· Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, operating procedures, and process drawings.

· Working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment, developed through operator training or practical experience.

· Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

· Strong communication, interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

· Wastewater operator license preferred, but not required.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
