Water Damage Mitigation Technician

Steam Team Emergency Services is a locally owned company specializing in 24/7 emergency water damage restoration, water extraction, and mold remediation. We help homeowners and property managers recover from unexpected property damage by providing dependable, professional service.

Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Water Damage Mitigation Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position involving emergency water extraction, water damage mitigation, demolition of affected materials, moisture monitoring, and drying equipment setup.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, communicates well with the team, and understands the importance of completing jobs safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Respond to residential and commercial water damage jobs.
• Perform water extraction and assist with emergency mitigation services.
• Set up, monitor, and retrieve dehumidifiers, air movers, and other drying equipment.
• Take moisture readings and document drying progress.
• Perform controlled demolition, including removal of wet drywall, insulation, carpet, padding, and other damaged materials as needed.
• Assist with mold remediation, containment setup, HEPA vacuuming, and cleaning of affected areas according to company procedures and training.
• Take job-site photos and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate job updates, concerns, and additional findings to the office and team.
• Maintain clean, organized equipment and company vehicles.
• Follow safety procedures and company protocols at all times.
• Provide professional, respectful service to homeowners, tenants, and property managers.
• Assist with after-hours emergency calls as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Previous water damage restoration or mitigation experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of drying equipment, moisture meters, and water extraction equipment is a plus.
• Experience with demolition, construction, maintenance, or mold remediation is beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
• Comfortable working in crawl spaces, attics, confined work areas, and properties affected by water damage, as applicable to the job.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and follow company procedures.

Pay: $500.00 - $1,500.00 per week
