Water Jet Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Water Jet Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain water jet cutting equipment to precisely shape a variety of materials, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. Your expertise in machine operation, technical drawing interpretation, and safety protocols will be essential to streamline our fabrication processes and deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities

• Set up and operate water jet cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration according to technical specifications and production requirements
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents to determine cutting paths and material specifications
• Maintain optimal machine performance through routine inspections, troubleshooting industrial equipment issues, and performing preventive maintenance
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify dimensional accuracy of finished parts
• Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects, including materials handling, assembly line coordination, and packaging of finished products
• Follow safety standards in production environments by adhering to OSHA regulations, wearing appropriate PPE, and maintaining a clean workspace

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating water jet cutting machines
• Familiarity with other machining processes including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, and flexo presses is a plus
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical drawings with precision measurement instruments like micrometers and calipers
• Mechanical aptitude with understanding of factory safety standards, shop math, materials handling, and fabrication techniques
• Experience with industrial troubleshooting, interpreting technical specifications, and maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing environments
• Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts for materials movement is desirable
• Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills in fast-paced production settings
