Water Meter Pit Installer

Location: Langley, BC & Fraser Valley, BC (On-Site Field Deployment)

Position Type: Full-time Fixed-Term Contract, through March 2027 with potential for extension

Hours of Work: 40 hours / week

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Base Compensation: Guaranteed base hourly rate of $20.00/hour, with EI and CPP deductions

Earning Potential: Up to $57.00+ / hour via lucrative Piece-Rate Production bonuses (Get paid more what you complete!)

Position Overview

We are seeking self-starting individuals to add to our field installation team! If you consider yourself to be an independent worker with a great attitude, then this job is for you. The position requires a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail. Your primary role will be to excavate and install water meters, record the required data on a handheld device, and restore the area around the excavation. No prior meter experience is required—comprehensive paid training is provided!

Key Responsibilities

• Picks up required equipment, inventory, and daily work orders prior to deployment
• Communicates installation plans, timelines, and schedules professionally with residents
• Performs safe excavation of meter pits, ties into existing water lines, and installs new water meters and associated components
• Completes thorough restoration of disturbed lawns, hardscapes, and excavation areas to high-quality standards
• Records all measurements, equipment serial numbers, and site photos accurately using handheld mobile devices
• Adheres strictly to corporate Health and Safety policies, job-site protocols, and traffic control procedures
• Conducts quality self-inspections on completed work to ensure zero-defect installations
• Handles any additional field service duties or operational tasks as assigned by your manager

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma / GED is required
• Minimum one year of hands-on experience in construction, trades, landscaping, or heavy physical labor; Previous water meter, meter pit, or residential water service line experience is a strong asset
• Solid mechanical aptitude with demonstrated familiarity using various hand tools and power tools
• Physical capability and stamina to perform heavy manual labor, outdoor digging, and lifting in varying weather conditions
• Independent worker with a great attitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting politely and clearly with homeowners and the public
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and driver’s abstract
• All candidates must successfully complete a mandatory clean criminal background check
