Water Network Leak Detection

At Aqua Analytics, we help water utilities and councils across New Zealand reduce water loss, extend the life of ageing pipeline assets, and run smarter networks, combining a skilled field team, advanced acoustic and IoT technology, and globally recognised water-loss expertise.

We're a small business growing fast, and we're looking for talented, passionate water network professionals who want to do meaningful work, partner directly with our clients, and take real ownership of the results they deliver in the field across the North Island.

The role

As a Water Network Leak Detection Technician, you'll be at the sharp end of acoustic leak detection and water loss reduction. Day to day, you will:

• Carry out active leak detection (ALD) inspections across the North Island, focused on results and efficiency

• Complete reports to a high standard using our professional GIS-centric reporting platform, which gives clients real-time insight into site activities, work locations, findings and results

• Install and maintain intelligent IoT loggers and sensors on water and wastewater pipelines

• Deliver a range of projects across New Zealand from your North Island base (flexibility in location)

• Support project planning, documentation, budgeting, and delivery coordination

• Own HSEQ compliance on site, including daily use of our field compliance software

• Liaise with clients on site, keeping contract performance and satisfaction front of mind

What you'll bring

Essential

• Sound knowledge of water networks and how they operate day to day
• Hands-on experience using a wide range of acoustic leak detection technology to locate leaks
• A working understanding of leak detection and water loss management strategy
• A professional approach in how you present, communicate, and represent Aqua to our clients
• The drive to solve problems collaboratively with teammates and customers
• Willingness and flexibility to travel (accommodation and per diem provided)
• The legal right to work in New Zealand (you must already be located in New Zealand)

Desirable

• Experience in a small, fast-moving business where what you do directly shapes the outcome
• Familiarity with intelligent water IoT devices or the appetite to learn fast
• A track record of meeting and beating contract performance expectations
• Understanding of acoustic leak detection technologies, methods and practices
