Water Treatment Engineer

Job Summary:

The Wastewater Treatment Engineer is responsible for overseeing and monitoring wastewater treatment operations to ensure efficient system performance, compliance with environmental and safety standards, and proper handling of wastewater and related equipment. The role involves monitoring treatment processes, recording operational and water quality data, conducting routine inspections, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with established operating procedures and environmental regulations.

Job Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
2. At least 1 year of experience in wastewater treatment, water treatment, manufacturing, utilities, or related operations is an advantage but not required.
3. Fresh graduates with relevant OJT/internship experience in wastewater treatment, water treatment, plant operations, or manufacturing may be considered.
4. Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and basic water quality parameters.
5. Familiarity with wastewater treatment systems, pumps, filtration systems, chemical dosing, aeration, sludge handling, and water storage/distribution systems is an advantage.
6. Knowledge of environmental regulations, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards, and proper chemical handling procedures.
7. Basic knowledge of MSDS/SDS and safe handling of wastewater treatment chemicals.
8. Ability to accurately record operational data, water quality parameters, and treatment process results.
9. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for record-keeping and report preparation.
10. Willingness to work in a plant environment and perform routine monitoring and inspection activities.
