Job Type: Full-time / Shift Work

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable Water Treatment Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient treatment and supply of clean, potable water in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Plant Operation:

• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, chemical dosing systems, filters, and control panels.

• Monitor flow rates, pressure gauges, and water levels.

• Adjust chemical dosage (chlorine, alum, lime, etc.) based on water quality test results.

• Identify and report any water quality issues immediately.

2. Maintenance & Housekeeping:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment, tanks, and clarifiers.

• Identify faults and report to maintenance team.

• Keep plant, logbooks, and work area clean and safe.

3. Safety & Compliance:

• Strictly follow health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures.

• Handle chemicals safely using PPE.

• Maintain accurate daily operation logs, chemical usage records, and shift reports.

4. Other Duties:

• Work on rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Assist in training new operators.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• OND / HND /B.Sc in Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Science or related field.

• 1-3 years experience in water treatment plant, bottled water factory, or wastewater treatment (Trade Test certification is an added advantage).

• Good knowledge of water treatment processes: coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection.

• Physically fit and able to work with chemicals.

• Attention to detail, good record-keeping, and ability to work with little supervision.
