As a Restoration Technician, you will perform emergency response services, initial site assessments, mitigation tasks, and specialized cleaning. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoy helping people through challenging situations, this position offers a rewarding path with room for professional growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Water Damage Mitigation: Extract standing water using commercial pumps and vacuums; set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers); remove damaged building materials (drywall, carpet, padding, insulation).

  • Fire & Smoke Restoration: Clean soot, ash, and smoke residue from surfaces; perform structure and content cleaning; deodorize affected areas using thermal foggers, ozone generators, or hydroxyl machines.

  • Property & Content Protection: Carefully pack, inventory, move, and store customer contents and belongings to prevent further damage.

  • Site Containment & Safety: Set up containment zones, negative air machines, and HEPA filtration systems to ensure safe work environments and prevent cross-contamination.

  • Documentation: Complete clear, detailed, and accurate daily job notes, thermal readings, moisture maps, and equipment logs using mobile field applications.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, inspect, and maintain standard restoration equipment, vehicles, and tools to ensure operational readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 70+ lbs assisted, work in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics), and stand/bend for extended periods.

  • PPE Compliance: Ability to comfortably wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including full respirator gear, Tyvek suits, and safety glasses when required.

  • Availability: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays to respond to emergency incidents.

Preferred Experience & Certifications

  • IICRC Certifications: Active certification in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

    • WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician)
    • FSRT (Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician)
    • AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician)
  • Industry Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in disaster restoration, construction, demolition, or carpet cleaning.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with restoration technology, moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and job management software.

Soft Skills & Core Competencies

  • Empathy & Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact compassionately with stressed or distressed property owners.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills under pressure and in evolving job-site conditions.

  • Teamwork: Dependable team player who works effectively alongside crew chiefs, estimators, and third-party contractors.

Working Conditions & Benefits

  • Work Environment: Variable conditions—includes residential homes, commercial properties, active disaster zones, and inclement weather setups.

  • Benefits: [Insert company benefits, e.g., Health, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off (PTO), 401(k) with match, Overtime Pay, On-Call Stipends, and Paid IICRC Certification Training].
