Ready to shape the future of resilient communities?

Verdantas is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting projects out of our Dover, DE, Wilmington, DE, and Philadelphia, PA offices.

In this role, you’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects that improve water and wastewater systems for municipal and industrial clients, directly enhancing public health and environmental sustainability. You’ll be involved in every phase of the project lifecycle: from planning and evaluation to design, permitting, and construction. You’ll help rehabilitate aging infrastructure and develop innovative new systems, including water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution, as well as wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and disposal.

Expect hands-on fieldwork, meaningful client interaction, and collaboration across disciplines. You’ll conduct system reviews, perform engineering and alternative analyses, evaluate and select equipment, prepare construction drawings and specifications, and coordinate with regulatory agencies.

We are looking for a motivated and solutions-oriented engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. This individual is detail-focused without losing sight of broader project goals and demonstrates persistence and creativity when navigating complex design and permitting challenges. They enjoy setting goals and developing actionable plans to achieve them, and they see each project as an opportunity to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully. Candidates who consider themselves future leaders or aspire to become one will find this role especially rewarding, as it offers opportunities for ownership, mentorship, and long-term career development.

  • Assist Project Managers with engineering design for water and wastewater facilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
  • Perform technical engineering work associated with water and wastewater engineering

  • Develop hydraulic models and perform engineering analysis
  • Participate in field investigations
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water/wastewater or other related field
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in water & wastewater or related civil engineering projects, including design, analysis, and studies
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
  • Familiar with computer models for hydraulic system analysis
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Salary Range:

The starting salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000, with final compensation determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and licensing status.
