Water/Wastewater Estimator

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Water/Wastewater Estimator. The estimator is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, and preparing cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, and related infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs, obtaining and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes, and updating estimate templates and databases. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and business development staff to support bid preparation, value engineering, and proposal documentation. The estimator also participates in post-bid reviews, refines estimating practices based on project outcomes, and helps ensure that bids are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating for civil, water, or wastewater projects, including quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes, pipelines, pumping stations, and related civil/structural works.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and project document management tools.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present assumptions and estimate results.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate across distributed teams.
• Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to water and wastewater projects is preferred.
