Are you passionate about developing advanced downhole technology that solves some of the industry's most complex challenges? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation, engineering excellence, and hands-on problem solving come together? If so, then Archer is your home.

We are looking for a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to play a pivotal role in the continued development of our groundbreaking Electro-Chemical Metal Removal (ECMR) technology. This is a unique opportunity to work on a disruptive solution that is transforming well intervention and plug & abandonment (P&A) operations.

About the Role

In this role you will be reporting to the ECMR Project & Commercialization Manager and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative concepts from design to field deployment. You will be involved in every stage of the development process, from engineering and prototyping to testing, validation, and operational support.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys both detailed engineering work and hands-on involvement in tool assembly, testing, and field support.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and develop innovative electro-mechanical downhole tools for well intervention and P&A applications.
  • Take products from concept through design, testing, qualification, and field deployment.
  • Integrate mechanical systems with electronics, sensors, and actuation technologies to deliver reliable solutions for harsh downhole environments.
  • Participate in hands-on prototyping, tool assembly, and system testing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex technical challenges and optimize tool performance.
  • Support field trials and operational deployments, translating real-world challenges into engineering solutions.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure quality, performance, and efficient delivery.

This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the development of a groundbreaking technology that is redefining well intervention and P&A operations.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced and hands-on engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and bringing innovative products to life.

You likely have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in downhole tool development within the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience with wireline and/or well intervention technologies.
  • A proven track record of taking products from concept and design through testing and field deployment.
  • Strong mechanical design skills and experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, power transmission, and signal integrity in harsh environments.
  • Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, and qualification testing for downhole applications.

You are:

  • Passionate about innovation and technology development.
  • Hands-on, practical, and solution-oriented.
  • Self-driven and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
  • Committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where ideas quickly become reality.

Most importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to develop groundbreaking technology and make a real impact in the future of well intervention and P&A operations.

We will evaluate candidates on an ongoing basis
