Job Overview

We are an established textile manufacturing company supplying into the technical textiles markets including automotive and protective clothing.

We are seeking to employ someone who has experience within the textile industry. You will be working in our weaving department and be responsible for operating rapier looms efficiently and to a high level of quality.

Weaving skills required, knotting, drawing, gear changing, overlooking and mechanical skills an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the yarn and fabrics conform to order requirements
• Carry out machine operation functions as per job instructions
• Checking work to ensure fabrics are free from defects and quality maintained
• Diagnose the reasons for and remedy faults or problems
• Work as part of a team
• Maintain clean work space and a safe environment

Requirements

• Experience of working in textile weaving factory
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Experience or ability to operate machinery and follow set procedures and Instructions
• Good dexterity to work with fine yarn
• Operate the loom and quality efficiently
• Knowledge and understanding of quality, blend and lot identification systems

Hours of Work

• 38 hours per week.
• Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm, Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm
• 31 days holiday per year

Pay: £30,323.00-£41,211.00 per year
