Bring your creativity to life and help shape how our community experiences the City of Wanneroo.
Are you a talented digital and graphic designer who loves turning ideas into engaging visual experiences? Do you have an eye for detail, a passion for great design and the technical skills to bring creative concepts to life across web, digital and print?
The City of Wanneroo is looking for a skilled Web and Graphic Designer to join our Communications and Brand team. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects that help communicate important information, strengthen our corporate brand and improve the experience of our community.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, you’ll deliver creative, accessible and brand-aligned design solutions across the City’s digital and print channels. You’ll work with teams across the organisation to turn briefs into effective visual communications while ensuring consistency, quality and accessibility.
No two projects will be the same. You’ll balance multiple assignments, collaborate with internal stakeholders and use your technical expertise to deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating engaging graphic and digital content for web, print and other communication channels.
- Designing, publishing and maintaining web content and digital assets, with a focus on usability, responsive design and accessibility.
- Producing still and motion graphics, video content and other creative assets that bring the City’s brand to life.
- Developing and maintaining design templates, including editable Canva templates for use across the organisation.
- Providing specialist design advice and working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop practical, creative solutions.
- Managing competing priorities, coordinating reviews and approvals, and monitoring project timelines and production costs.
- Maintaining digital asset libraries, design resources and records while ensuring copyright, licensing and brand requirements are met.
About you
You are a creative problem-solver who combines strong design skills with a practical, customer-focused approach. You enjoy collaborating with others, interpreting briefs and finding effective ways to communicate information visually.
You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in web design, graphic and digital design, visual communication or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- At least five years’ relevant experience delivering web, digital and print design in a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation.
- Advanced graphic and digital design skills, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and interface design platforms.
- Experience creating accessible, brand-aligned creative content for digital platforms and print.
- Working knowledge of web publishing, content management systems, responsive design, user experience and digital accessibility.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise competing deadlines and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience transferring Adobe Creative Cloud designs into editable Canva templates.
You will understand the importance of brand consistency, accessibility, copyright and attention to detail, and take pride in delivering work that meets both creative and technical requirements.
Ready to make your mark?
If you’re passionate about design, digital communication and creating accessible, high-quality visual experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now with your cover letter outlining your relevant experience and suitability for the role, together with your current resume. If possible, please include a link to your online portfolio or examples of your web, digital and graphic design work.
