Job Overview

Speed & Function is seeking a Web Application Developer to help build, enhance, and maintain modern web applications. The ideal candidate combines front-end development skills with an understanding of application architecture, API integration, and back-end services.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and designers to translate requirements into reliable digital solutions. You will contribute to development planning, implementation, testing, and continuous improvement while maintaining a focus on usability, performance, and maintainable code.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications.
• Build interactive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Develop reusable components and maintain consistent application behavior.
• Integrate REST APIs, third-party services, and back-end systems.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to implement product requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and improve application speed and reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and debugging.
• Support application deployments and ongoing maintenance.
• Follow accessibility, security, and web development best practices.
• Contribute to technical planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web development.
• Experience with a modern framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and client-server architecture.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Knowledge of browser compatibility, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of web accessibility and basic application security.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience developing and supporting production web applications.
• Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Ruby on Rails, PHP, or Go.
• Experience with database integration, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Understanding of Agile development practices and iterative product delivery.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
