Web Designer (Wix / Squarespace + Coding Experience)

We're seeking an experienced Web Designer to join an Australian business on a short-term contract to create a professional temporary website while a larger website is being developed.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced designer who can work independently, deliver quickly, and create a polished, modern website using Squarespace, while also having the technical ability to customise functionality through coding when required.

About the Role

You will be responsible for designing and building a medium- to large-sized brochure website that is visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly. The project has a fixed deadline, with the website required to go live by 1 September.

This is a 6–8 week contract, with the potential for additional overflow work following the successful launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build a professional website using Wix or Squarespace
• Create a clean, modern, responsive website across desktop and mobile devices
• Implement custom functionality using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or other relevant coding where required
• Work closely with the client to implement feedback and revisions
• Ensure excellent user experience and website performance
• Deliver the completed website within project deadlines

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience building websites in Wix and/or Squarespace
• Strong front-end coding skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other relevant technologies)
• Experience developing medium- to large-sized brochure websites
• Strong eye for design, layout, typography, and user experience
• Ability to work independently and manage project timelines
• Excellent communication skills
• Portfolio showcasing previous website projects
