Web Developer

About the role:

The role of Web Developer is responsible for the creation and upkeep of the digital catalogue of works for Equity Connect Outsourced. This will include the design, creation and maintenance of digital assets utilised throughout the business; including websites, web portals, marketing materials and templates which are used in our proprietary systems, HTML designs for email marketing and email signatures, implementing and updating of various marketing materials and online spaces such as websites. You will also be responsible for creating HTML templates which are then used to build various internal and external online systems.

This role suits someone with a proactive approach to design and creativity, who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team environment. You should be comfortable contributing ideas, taking feedback onboard, and iterating on designs as part of a broader creative process. The role involves working through multiple revisions to achieve the best outcome, so patience, adaptability, and a solutions-focused mindset are important.

It is an expectation that you have a high level of design with great attention to detail. You will require a good level of interpersonal skills, communication skills and an ability to create and present concepts to the business stakeholders.

What your day looks like:

• Develop and maintain responsive and visually appealing websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Customize and extend WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
• Implement design mock-ups into functional web interfaces with a focus on user experience and accessibility.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness across various devices.
• Manage and update website content using WordPress CMS, including creating and editing pages, posts, and multimedia elements.
• Conduct thorough testing of websites to identify and fix bugs, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
• Perform code reviews and collaborate with team members to maintain code quality and best practices.
• Design and create HTML desktop and mobile email signatures.
• Service delivery management by ensuring SLAs are met.

To be successful, you must have the following:

• Solid understanding of web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in WordPress development, including theme customization, plugin development, and content management.
• Understanding of SEO best practices.
• Experience with responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g., jQuery, React).
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
