Who We Are

We’re an award-winning creative studio founded in 2009 — a multi-disciplinary collective of designers, developers, writers, and strategists who create fertile ground for conversation, collaboration, and enduring relationships with clients, partners, and each other. Drawing inspiration from wildly diverse influences, we thoughtfully consider every detail — to create holistic solutions that are compelling, immersive, relevant, and part of richer lived experiences for emerging, evolving, and storied brands worldwide.

Role Overview

The Web Developer builds our clients’ websites and keeps them running after launch. You’ll turn design files into responsive, well-built sites, set up analytics and tracking, and handle technical SEO. After launch, you’ll maintain those sites, fix issues, and answer client questions about their site, domain, and email. It’s a good fit for a developer who cares about the details of a build and is comfortable talking with clients who aren’t technical.

Who You Are

Good at explaining technical decisions and problems in simple terms to clients and coworkers

Patient and professional with clients who are busy, frustrated, or not technical

Able to learn new tools and platforms quickly, mostly on your own

Organized and detail-oriented, and able to manage several projects at once

Uses AI coding tools as part of your daily work, and reviews and tests what they produce

Takes ownership of your work from build through launch and beyond

Open to feedback and easy to work with

A critical thinker who demonstrates flexibility in approach in an industry constantly adapting to new trends and technologies

Internally driven to make things better, think creatively to solve problems, and exceed expectations

Skills

Strong HTML, CSS / SCSS, and modern JavaScript

PHP, and experience building custom WordPress themes

Experience building and customizing Shopify themes with Liquid

Able to turn Figma files into accurate, responsive builds

Experience with animation and interaction in the browser

Experience working with third-party APIs

Comfortable with Git and GitHub

A working understanding of domains, DNS, hosting, and email records, and able to make changes on your own

Experience setting up Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, Search Console, and conversion tracking

Technical SEO: metadata, schema markup, redirects, site structure, page speed, and Core Web Vitals

An understanding of how to structure content so it can be found and cited by AI search tools

Accessibility (WCAG) and web security best practices

Nice to have: experience with Claude Code; Adobe Creative Suite; a headless CMS or static site framework

Key Responsibilities

Development:

Build responsive websites from design files, with close attention to detail, animation, and interaction

Write clean, maintainable code that others on the team can pick up

Work with design throughout the build so the finished site matches the design

Test sites across browsers and devices and fix issues before launch

Analytics & SEO:

Set up GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, and conversion tracking on every site, and check that it works before and after launch

Handle technical SEO at the code level: semantic HTML, metadata, schema markup, redirects, and page speed

Build landing pages and URL structures that support paid media and tracking

Monitor Core Web Vitals and performance, and fix problems as they come up

Pull basic traffic and performance reports and flag anything that looks off

Site Maintenance & Client Support:

Handle client website requests, including content changes, outages, email and domain questions, and login issues

Keep clients updated on the status of their requests

Make domain, DNS, and email record changes

Run routine maintenance: plugin and app updates, broken link checks, form testing, uptime monitoring, and backups

Track domain and hosting renewals

Maintain records for each client site: registrar, hosting, DNS, CMS access, third-party tools, and contacts

Write simple how-to guides for clients and the studio

Planning & Improvement:

Recommend post-launch improvements based on analytics and performance data

Run performance audits and technical health checks for retainer clients

Give technical input on proposals, scoping, and estimates when needed

Not Responsible For

To ensure focus and clarity, this role is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the following:

Creative direction or design decisions

Digital marketing strategy or paid media campaigns (may support technical setup)

Internal IT or office tech support

What Success Looks Like

Every site launches with analytics and tracking set up and working

Client requests are handled quickly and accurately

Client sites are kept up to date, and issues are caught before clients notice them

Clients and the studio trust the data being reported

Sites are built so they can grow without major rebuilds
