About the Role

We are looking for a Website Designer & Developer to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey. Create the visual layout and design of websites - including colour schemes, typography, images, and overall UI elements - ensuring the design aligns with the brand identity and user-experience goals.

Responsibilities

• Front-End Development: Convert design concepts into functional web pages using HTML, CSS and JavaScript; ensure websites are responsive across desktops, tablets and smartphones.
• User Experience (UX) Design: Enhance overall UX with intuitive navigation, clear calls to action and usability testing.
• Back-End Development: Develop server-side logic and databases using languages (PHP, Python, Ruby) and DBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Content Management Systems (CMS): Implement and customise platforms like WordPress, Drupal or Joomla.
• Web Performance Optimization: Reduce load times, improve page speed and apply best practices.
• Security: Implement security measures to protect websites from vulnerabilities and cyber threats; ensure data protection and user privacy.
• Testing & Debugging: Conduct testing and debugging including cross-browser testing.
• Version Control: Use version control systems (eg, Git) to manage and track code changes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: A degree in web design, web development, computer science or related field is beneficial (many developers are self-taught or have specialised training).
• Technical Proficiency: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and knowledge of front-end & back-end frameworks.
• Design Skills: Tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Sketch.
• CMS Experience: Familiarity with WordPress or Drupal.
• Responsive Design: Knowledge of responsive, mobile-friendly development.
• Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
• Portfolio: A portfolio of previous web design/development projects is a significant asset.

Requirements
