Web Development Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Web Development Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of modern, scalable, secure, and high-performing web applications.

The role combines technical leadership, software architecture, people management, and delivery ownership. The candidate will lead frontend and backend engineers, establish engineering best practices, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure reliable delivery of business-critical web applications.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering Leadership

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of web applications.
• Drive architecture and technical design decisions for scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Establish coding standards, design patterns, reusable components, and engineering best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and technical/architecture discussions.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance, scalability, and security concerns.
• Evaluate and recommend relevant emerging technologies.

Web Application Development

• Guide development of responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies, particularly React.js.
• Oversee backend services and APIs using Node.js, Python/FastAPI, or equivalent frameworks.
• Ensure effective integration between frontend applications, APIs, databases, authentication systems, and external services.
• Promote modular architecture and reusable UI components.
• Ensure applications meet requirements for performance, accessibility, usability, reliability, and browser compatibility.

Software Delivery & Agile

• Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, retrospectives, and release planning.
• Drive predictable delivery while maintaining software quality.
• Track risks, dependencies, blockers, and technical constraints.
• Balance feature delivery with technical debt, platform improvements, and operational requirements.

DevOps, CI/CD & Cloud

• Promote automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Platform teams to improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Support containerized and cloud-native application deployments.
• Promote automated quality checks, security scanning, and deployment controls.
• Ensure appropriate monitoring, logging, observability, and operational readiness.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong experience with React.js.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Backend experience with Node.js and/or Python.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar API frameworks.
• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs.
