Assedo Consulting provides planning and public outreach services for infrastructure projects in the planning, design, and construction phases of development.

Position Summary

The Web Development Specialist is a hybrid technical role responsible for keeping Assedo Consulting's digital infrastructure, internal systems, and visual/web presence running smoothly and securely. This person is equal parts systems administrator, help desk resource, web developer, and graphic designer supporting employees across two offices (located in Halethorpe, MD and Laurel, MD) and remotely. The ideal candidate is a versatile, self-directed technologist who is comfortable moving between a support ticket, a firewall setting, a website update, and a graphic design request within the same day.

This role is foundational to Assedo's Operations & Compliance workstream and supports project initiatives through web and design work.

Key Responsibilities

• Systems Administration: Administer and monitor servers, networks, domain accounts, and cloud infrastructure; manage user access and permissions; perform updates, patches, backups, and disaster recovery planning
• Hardware & Software: Procure, configure, deploy, and maintain devices and business software (Microsoft 365, Adobe, industry tools); manage vendor relationships and licensing
• Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as the primary help desk contact, providing hands-on and remote support; document recurring issues in an internal knowledge base
• Web Development: Design, maintain and enhance websites for internal and external clients, including content development, performance, uptime, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and SEO basics; support public engagement microsites
• Intranet: Own and maintain the company intranet as the hub for communications, policies, and forms; build simple workflows with People and Operations
• Inventory Management: Track IT hardware, software licenses, and equipment across their lifecycle, including audits and secure data wiping
• IT Security: Maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, MFA, and access controls; lead initial incident response; support client contract compliance requirements; coordinate employee security awareness training
• Graphic Design: Support production of branded internal and external materials, including newsletters, presentations, signage, and proposal graphics

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in, Web Development, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in a hybrid IT/web development role, ideally at a small-to-midsize professional services firm
• Working knowledge of network administration, Windows/Mac environments, and cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365/Azure)
• Proficiency in web development (SharePoint; HTML/CSS/JavaScript; CMS platforms such as WordPress or similar)
• Proficiency with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop; Canva)
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and customer-service orientation
• Demonstrated understanding of foundational IT security practices

Preferred:

• Experience supporting a construction, engineering, or professional Architectural/Engineering services firm
• Familiarity with intranet development and maintenance
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, or equivalent)
• Experience managing IT for a multi-location organization

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
