Web Frontend Engineer (Vue.js / Nuxt / TypeScript) — Mobile Payments Platform — Tokyo (3 openings)

概要

LOCATION REQUIREMENT

You must already be living in Japan with valid work authorization. We are not sponsoring relocation or visa transfers from overseas for this role. Applications from outside Japan will not be considered.

THE CONTEXT

Abbeal is hiring three Web Frontend Engineers on permanent contracts, for a long-term engagement with a leading Japanese mobile payments company. You join the product engineering organisation and build the web features of a payment product used by consumers and merchants across Japan. Fast-paced environment, large user base, strong expectations on quality and performance. Three openings, permanent position at Abbeal, start date to be agreed together.

PRACTICAL DETAILS

• Location: full remote, open to anyone living in Japan (the client is based in Tokyo). No regular on-site presence is expected on this role.
• Hours: Super Flex, no core time. Reference day 9:00 to 17:45 with a 1-hour break (7h45 effective).
• Contract: permanent position (full-time employee) at Abbeal, on a long-term project. Start date to be agreed together.
• Openings: 3
• Working language: business-level English.

WORKING WITH ABBEAL

スキル・資格

What We're Looking For (must-have)

• Currently based in Japan with valid work authorization — no relocation or visa sponsorship from overseas for this role
• 5+ years of industry experience building secure web frontend applications (JavaScript and/or transpiled languages)
• 1+ year of industry experience with Vue.js / Nuxt: this is the central technical criterion for the frontend. React on its own is no longer enough to set a profile apart — a 100% React candidate with no Vue experience is not a priority.
• Sound software engineering practices and solid computer science fundamentals
• Business-level English (required on this role)

NICE TO HAVE

• Frontend performance monitoring and optimisation
• iOS or Android development, native or React Native
• Server-side RESTful API design
• Web hosting infrastructure such as CDNs
• Testing and design system tooling: Jest, Storybook, i18n, Figma

業務内容

What You'll Do

• Work with product managers, designers and the other engineering teams to implement features end to end
• Build secure web frontends in TypeScript with Vue.js and Nuxt — the core frontend stack on this project, confirmed by the client — on a micro-frontend setup (single-spa)
• Contribute through knowledge sharing, code reviews and feedback on engineering best practices
• Triage, debug and fix product issues, with Sentry, Kibana, NewRelic and Google Analytics for observability
• Ship through the existing chain: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform on AWS
